What is Support at Home?

From 1 July 2025, the Support at Home program will replace the Home Care Package program, designed to make care simpler, more flexible, and better tailored to individual needs.

Instead of an annual budget, funding will be allocated quarterly, allowing for better planning. Clients can carry over up to $1,000 or 10% of their budget each quarter, ensuring they don’t lose unspent funds.

The new program focuses on more choice, transparency, and better value for services—meaning you’ll have more control over your care while keeping costs predictable.

Transitioning to Support at Home

What if I haven’t started receiving my Home Care Package services yet?2025-02-19T10:35:35+11:00

If you’ve been approved for a Home Care Package but haven’t commenced your services by 1 July 2025, you’ll transition to the new Support at Home program at your approved funding level. However, if you’re still waiting for an assessment or your eligibility outcome, you’ll be assessed under the new Support at Home system.

What happens to my Home Care Package when Support at Home starts2025-02-19T10:38:32+11:00

Your package will automatically transition to Support at Home on 1 July 2025. If you’re already receiving home care, you’ll keep the same services and be transitioned to an equivalent funding level—there’s no need for a reassessment.
