Great feedback from well attended Wellbeing forums

The St Agnes’ Care & Lifestyle (SACAL) Village Wellbeing Forums, held over two mornings were well attended with over 50 people attending across both days.

The first was at the Tenison Woods Centre on Tuesday and the second at John Worner Centre on Wednesday, 20 and 21 February,

Even heavy rain on the morning of the first forum didn’t dampen spirits or attendance with over 30 people attending at Tenison Woods.

With Jody Munro, Village Manager – Retirement Living for St Agnes’ Care & Lifestyle, as MC, the three-hour forums covered a wide range of interesting and relevant topics,

The speakers were knowledgeable, informative and engaging as they spoke about:

  • The importance of Enduring guardianship, Power of Attorney and the importance of having a will,
  • Diabetes and healthy eating as well as nutritional requirements as we age,
  • Pastoral & Spiritual Care as part of meaningful ageing
  • The importance of movement and exercise for healthy bones and joints, and updates on the development of Emmaus Village.

The audience asked lots of great questions, which continued during conversations over morning tea, which was supplied by St Agnes’ Food Services.

At morning tea, attendees were also given the opportunity to chat to staff at information tables set up by the St Agnes’ Care & Lifestyle teams from Residential Care, Villages/Lifestyle, Pastoral Care, and Parish Initiatives & Volunteering.

When the forums concluded around 12 noon, anyone who was interested was offered the opportunity for a tour of the villages and an open house walk for a villa at Lourdes Village and St Agnes’ Village.

Attendees deemed the forums valuable and worth attending, which was great feedback for organisers.
