What is Home Care?
Home Care provides a package of care to support people remaining independent for longer, living their best lives in their own homes.
Home Care services are tailored to individual needs and focus on care and assistance that will benefit the individual’s health and wellbeing at home and in the community. A key benefit of a Home Care package is they allow a coordinated approach to delivering your in-home care.
Our Care Coordinators work with you to consider a range of services across all aspects of life, from help around the house and domestic services to nursing and comprehensive care services.
Types of Home Care Packages
There are four different levels of Home Care Packages available that are allocated depending on individual care needs:
- Level 1 supports people with basic care needs
- Level 2 supports people with low-level care needs
- Level 3 supports people with intermediate care needs
- Level 4 supports people with high-level care needs
The primary difference between levels is that the hours of care increase at each package level.
More hours of care and services are delivered under Home Care level 4 than level 1.
The same types of services and care are provided under each Home Care level.
Eligibility for a Home Care package
Individuals will need to be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) to check eligibility for a Home Care package.
Our Client Relationship Team can help you book an ACAT appointment. In this appointment, an assessor will visit your home, ask you about the help you need, and identify the right services for your needs and the level of care you require.
After your assessment, you will receive a letter from ACAT stating the level of Home Care package you have been approved for.
