Get up! Stand up! Show up! – Celebrating NAIDOC Week
The Family, Children and Youth Pathways program brought the community together to celebrate NAIDOC Week on 3-10 July.
NAIDOC week is a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is also an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
The week was full of events including Fast 5’s on Monday, Ten Pin Bowling youth event on Tuesday, Community Picnic on Wednesday and a Movie Day on Friday. These events were enjoyed by all and provided a safe space to celebrate and action this year’s NAIDOC theme Get Up, Stand Up, Show Up.
